Skulls carry powerful symbolism in many different cultures. It can be a simple symbol of death or of wisdom (the mind). It can represent ancestors and lineage. In some cultures, skull beads have been used in necklaces of protection and Skulls have been used in lucky by gamblers.

Skull candles are used in spell work and can even function similarly to voodoo dolls or poppets to affect a target’s mind.

For use with loving intent – as described in the book “The Art of Hoodoo Candle Magic” by Catherine Yronwode and Mikhail Strabo – You’d choose an appropriate color (probably white, red or pink) and dress the candle with an appropriate condition oil after giving it a perfume wash. Hold the candle for 7 nights while the person should be sleeping. Speak to the candle in a hypnotic tone as if you were whispering into your targets’ ear, giving them instructions. On the eighth night, light the candle.

If you have a more nefarious or controlling intent, you’d use a corresponding condition oil such as “STFU oil” by Dr. E. Products for stopping gossip. Using sewing pins that you’ll heat over a purple candle (for controlling) or Black candle (for cursing) and stick them all the way into the skull in every orifice where they can perceive: The eyes so they won’t see it coming, the ears so they can’t hear it coming, the nose so they won’t smell and the mouth so they won’t speak about your work. Over the next 7 nights, curse the skull, inserting more pins anywhere and everywhere. Certain areas of the brain are used for different thoughts and actions so you can get creative and curse those areas of their brain to make them more aggressive, confused, or just to drive them insane. On the eighth night, give the skull a good helping of your selected condition oil and light that sucker up!
